| Who are these guys, the abridged version? | | Dispatch is Braddigan, Chetro, and Repete. They met at Middlebury in Vermont where the started playing together in the mid 1990's | Back to the Question List | How do I tell who is who??? | | Well... Chetro is the blonde guy who usually has either dreds, a fro, or just a shave. Pete's the guy who always has his hair stickin strait up as though he just woke up. Brad usually behind the kit and he wears his hair behind his ears usually with a hat. I dunno, hair's a good way of telling people apart | Back to the Question List | I heard these guys used to have another name. Is this true? | | You bet your butt it's true. They used to be called One Fell Poop.. er excuse me, One Fell Swoop. Then somebody else with that name started crying and so the boys put up a poll on their webpage to figure out a new name. The result was Dispatch, despite many attempts by Alan Cohen to have it be... something else. | Back to the Question List | What does the song Elias mean and what language is it in? | | Chad wrote this song when he was teaching kids in West Africa. The language is a dialect of Shona, and it basically translates to a typical greeting in that language.
One person asks another, "Are you strong?", to which the other replies, "I am strong if you are strong." The former replies with, "I am strong." The song is basically about relying on your friends for strength. This song, in my opinion, is a very unifying song for us fans. | Back to the Question List | Where can I find tabs/lyrics to Dispatch songs? | | Right here at the 'Spatch Patch. Check out The Music section. | Back to the Question List | How do I meet the band? | | Easy dude, there's lots of ways to meet the guys. They're a very chill bunch and are always willing to hang out with their fans. Sometimes you can get away with just hanging out after a show. Putting up flyers and such for the band is a good way to get meet-n-greets.. as is becoming a rep. If you're a girl you can flirt with any guys working the show and you're sure to get backstages. If you're a guy, life's a little harder. But you already knew that. | Back to the Question List | Who is this Burton guy I keep hearing so much about? | | Burton is the band's right hand man. Some suspect that he is the child of aliens who crash landed here. Others believe that he is a gift from God. Still others think that he's just a normal person like all of us. While that last one might seem a little far fetched, all of these are merely speculation. If you are ever blessed with the chance to meet this most awesome guy, you may hear such phrases as "she's diggin my chilli" or "she's shootin me lazers". It's an enlightening experience. | Back to the Question List | What does Star 6 mean? | | Ok, most college phone services have voice mail. There's usually some sort of option to delete old messages. At Middlebury, where the boys went, in order to delete a message one pressed * 6 on a touch tone phone. The line in Bang Bang simply means that he takes the bottle and 'deletes' it; gets rid of it. Star6 is also the official Dispatch message board. | Back to the Question List | What is a B&P? | | In the taping and trading community, B&P stands for Blank & Postage. If you want live music from someone and don't have a show to trade, you can hopefully find someone kind enough to do a B&P trade for you. You'll send them blank CDRs and a self addressed stamped envelope to send them back to you… this way they don't incur any costs, and most importantly, you aren't paying for the show. You should NEVER pay for copies of live shows. | Back to the Question List | What are the big 4? | | The big 4 are Dispatch's main four venues. In DC it is the 9:30 club, in Philly it's the Electric Factory. The main venues for New York and Boston have fluctuated a bit lately, but for now they seem to be Irving Plaza and the Orpheum, respectfully. Some will argue on the Boston one because there are many other venues played on the Mass. area. | Back to the Question List | Who are Wimpy and Peg and Sue? | | Wimpy was Dispatch's cargo van; the blue one with an orange racing stripe. Peg is the new van, and sue is the trailer. | Back to the Question List | I've heard rumors that Dispatch is breaking up, are they true? | Nope. But I heard that… Nope. Yeah, but a friend of mine… I said NOPE! But this person… What do I have to do? Hit you over the head with a lead pipe? The answer is NO! The band is not breaking up, and the only reason you hear these rumors is because people like you are spreading them. | Back to the Question List | Is Dispatch selling out? | | Not likely, they have not shown any of the symptoms of a band that is selling out. This is often a big topic of debate on star6. The general consensus is that the band knows what they are doing, and we should leave it at that. | Back to the Question List | I don't understand, which one is the lead singer? Why don't they each just stick to one instrument? | | Because that's not the kind of band they are. They are three front men who each play many different instruments. It's more fun that way. | Back to the Question List | I'm trying to describe this music to a friend, but I can't place them in a genre. Any suggestions? | Andy: Dispatch is trivocal-funkcoustic-instrument-swap-groove. Pappy: Dispatch is a chill reggae-funk band. | Back to the Question List | Where can I find their CDs? | | You can get their CD's from their official website at www.DispatchMusic.com or at www.AwareStore.com, or even your local record and tape traders might carry some. Also check your area for reps. | Back to the Question List | So what exactly is SpatchPatch? | | It's a fan resource site founded by long-time fans and frequenters of star 6. | Back to the Question List | How can I work for SpatchPatch? | | You must face one of the existing members in mortal combat. | Back to the Question List | I heard somewhere that SpatchPatch is really an area on your rear end. Is this true? | | Only in Benoit's weird twisted mind. | Back to the Question List | How do I know if the band is on tour? And when will they be coming to my city? | | Check our tour page here at SpatchPatch or you can check the band's website. Ticketmaster might have up to date info as well. | Back to the Question List | How much would it cost to get Dispatch to play for <insert event here> | | Talk to their booking agent at frank@highroadtouring.com … Sorry, but we at SpatchPatch don't speak for the band and we're not going to post that sort of information | Back to the Question List | Can I kick Burton's butt? | | You can try... | Back to the Question List | Who is Pete Francis? | | Pete Francis is Pete Heimbold from Dispatch. Francis is his middle name, which he goes by for his solo project. | Back to the Question List | Is Brad planning a solo project? | | Not that we know of. | Back to the Question List | Is there another album in the works? | | I suppose its possible | Back to the Question List | Are the guys married, girlfriends, single, kids, etc... | | They all have girlfriends as far as I know. | Back to the Question List | Do they do anything quirky before the shows? | | Rumor has it they walk around naked for about half an hour eating dumplings. | Back to the Question List | Why is the album called 4 Day Trials? | | Because it was recorded over four days. It's basically a live studio show. | Back to the Question List | Where can I download live shows? | | Check our traders section for a listing of FTP sites which host live music. | Back to the Question List | Who are Billy and Blinky? | | Billy and Blinky are Billy the badger and Blinky the one eyed toad, stars of our very own Flying Horses. They are the official mascots of the 'Spatch Patch. | Back to the Question List | Speaking of Flying Horses, what is that song about? | | The song refers to a merry-go-round in Martha's Vinyard. The objective on the ride is to see if you can catch the brass ring when you're going around. If you do you get a free ride. Yay! | Back to the Question List | How much longer is this FAQ? | | That's it for now. | Back to the Question List
